dSPACE AutomationDesk 1.3p2 September 2006 Last-Minute Information ====================================================================== Copyright (c) 2006 dSPACE GmbH, Germany Contents: 1. General 2. Problems Fixed by This Patch 3. Limitations 4. Installing the Patch ====================================================================== 1. General ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This patch can be installed on an existing AutomationDesk 1.3 with any previous patches. 2. Problems Fixed by This Patch ---------------------------------------------------------------------- a) The Output Window now uses a monospaced (nonproportional) font. b) Specific inconsistencies between graphical view and internal data, which occur in certain drag-and-drop use cases, have been removed. c) The Situation: The Custom Library in AutomationDesk must be located in the following folder: %dSPACE_ROOT%\AutomationDesk\Users\AllUsers\Custom Library. If the Custom Library is relocated, (e.g., via custom solution), you have no write access, and the Custom Library in AutomationDesk is itself read-only. Thus, no modifications are supported, to prevent actions that you will not be able to save afterwards. Problem: If the read-only Custom Library elements concerned are instantiated, the read-only attributes are not removed. Thus, you cannot edit items such as the values of data objects in the project. Solution: Custom Libraries located in read-only folders (e.g., via custom solution) are no longer read-only in AutomationDesk. AutomationDesk does not suppress modifications in the Custom Libraries. However, you make such changes at your own risk, since you cannot save the Custom Library afterwards. d) Dropping an element onto itself no longer invokes an error message box. The mouse cursor indicates that this is an invalid operation. e) Copying an element to a hierarchy level where the name of the source element already exists no longer invokes a dialog to insert a new name. Instead, a default name is generated, and you can change it afterwards (e.g. by pressing F2). f) Serial and parallel blocks in the Custom Library can be opened in the sequence builder by double-clicking or by pressing the Enter button. 3. Limitations ---------------------------------------------------------------------- No known limitations. 4. Installing the Patch ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To install the patch, you must be logged on as an administrator. Ensure that the active installation referenced by %DSPACE_ROOT% contains AutomationDesk Standard 1.3. If you are unsure, start dSPACE Installation Manager and check whether AutomationDesk Standard 1.3 appears in the list of installed products for the active installation. To install this patch, simply run AutomationDesk13p2.exe. The setup will automatically locate and patch the active dSPACE installation. After this patch is applied, the version of AutomationDesk on the splash screen and in the About box is set to AutomationDesk 1.3.0 P2. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- End of File
