Problems Fixed by This Patch 3. Limitations 4. Installing the Patch 1. General ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This patch can only be installed on an existing ControlDesk 3.1.1 installation (dSPACE Release 5.4). 2. Problems Fixed by This Patch ---------------------------------------------------------------------- a. Data Capture - The last data record is not captured when the captures are streamed to disk. - ControlDesk may crash on deletion of a plotter axis, after the signals have been continuously captured. - Units of captured signals are not written to MAT files, even if they are specified in the TRC file. - The entries "Description", "Capture", RT-Program" are not written to MAT files in the case of multiprocessor systems. - The error message "Variable description file out of date..." does not give the dates of the SDF file and the running application. - The Capture Settings property sheet contains the empty "Multiprocessor" page (obsolete). b. Experiment - You are not prompted to update the experiment if the simulation platform has been changed to DS1103. - You are prompted to update the experiment although the platform has not been changed, if the multiprocessor platform has a name other than "multiprocessor" (default name). - You are asked to save an experiment containing a CAN configuration even if it has not been changed at all. - The Help and Preview buttons in the Open Experiment dialog cannot be reached via keyboard. - The Help button, Destination button, and Destination edit field of the Import Files dialog cannot be reached via keyboard. - Controls below the Cancel button of the Open ZIP Archive dialog cannot be reached via keyboard. c. Variable Browser and Parameter Editor - Parameters are always written with 17 decimal digits, even if they are all zero. - The Variable Browser warns that the TRC file is missing if its name ends with "_offline.trc". - The Variable Browser and the context menu of the Plotter Array display the host service reserved for CAN monitoring although it should be hidden. - The Help of the Merge File dialog of the Parameter Editor cannot be reached. - No exception is thrown when a Python script tries to read a non-existent parameter. - The same multiprocessor platform is in certain cases assigned to two different applications. - The menu option "Open Variable File" assigns the working board even if it does not match the loaded simulation model. - In certain cases Variable Browser does not warn that the platform was already assigned. - The error "Could not find the system NoBoard" is reported on experiment load, if no board has been assigned and Autorun Application has been set. - Host services may be doubled in certain cases. - The experiment cannot be closed after an application image has been created. - The context menu of the variable list is not available if no variable has been selected. - The flash of DS1401 cannot be cleared after an application has been downloaded, if the flash had been previously improperly formatted. d. Platform Management - Frequent download of the real-time application with AutomationDesk sporadically forces ControlDesk platform management to crash. - The Clear Flash Memory dialog displays the old application in the flash after it has been deleted. - The DS2302 Version property page shows no data when DS2302 has been registered with DS1006. - Downloading an application to the DS1005 takes more time if two or more DS2201 boards are connected. - The Platform Manager displays empty slots on the DS4505. - The SDF Editor offers board types DS1003 and DS1004 although they are no longer supported. - The dialog to load the application to flash opens even during the Animation mode and CAN monitoring (it should be blocked). - The DS1005 Loader does not handle the "NOTES" section properly. e. Instrumentation - The Capture Settings option of the Plotter Array instrument is not displayed correctly, after two or more variable connections have been drawn to the plotter using different host services. - It is not possible to paste instruments together with their connections using the Instrumentation context menu. - You are prompted to save CAN Navigator views when you try to close them. - It is not be possible to save temporary layouts or to add them to the experiment. - It is not possible to export selected connections from different layouts into the same export file. - The option Enable Mixed Data Captures is reset when ControlDesk is closed and started again. - Export Data Connections saves all the connections if Current Selection is chosen and no instruments are selected. - "Export Data Connections" makes an invalid connection file if Active Layout is chosen but it does not contain any connected instruments. - The Range list of the Export Data Connections dialog offers Current Selection even if no instruments are selected. - Export Data Connections does not export grouped instruments if Current Selection is chosen. - ControlDesk may crash when instruments are copied to a remote computer, via Net Support, using the keyboard (CTRL+C, CTRL+V). - Layout scrollbars are sometimes missing. f. CAN Navigator - Some CAN configurations cannot be created. - The generation of the TX status layout is not completed if it contains only one instrument for the "Global enable" option. - CAN monitoring reports a negative starting time. - ControlDesk hangs when the processor platform has been switched off and on and then CAN monitoring is started. - GMOutPrcU.exe consumes memory when a CAN Configuration is open and online (only with Patch 1). - Opening a CAN configuration does not open the related model (SDF file) if they are stored on different volumes (drives). - The CAN Navigator does not prompt the user to save the changed CAN configuration when the experiment is being closed. g. Failure Simulation - In certain cases the Failure Simulation System cannot connect to FIU boards. - Log entries decrease performance. 3. Limitations ---------------------------------------------------------------------- No known limitations of this patch. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- End of File
